Management

Our management team is led by Mark, Bruce, and Jeffrey Murphy. Each executive employs a team approach to management for major issues involving the company.

The company employs dozens of highly trained professionals and some employees have been with the company for 20 to 30 years. Drilling Service’s philosophy is to: treat our employees, clients, subcontractors and owners with respect; provide quality work and competitive pricing; and complete every project on time and on budget.

Mark Murphy
President

Mark began working at Drilling Service in the mid-70s when he was still in high school. He became president of the company in 1993. Mark holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Maryville University. We treat every customer and employee the way we would want to be treated, Mark says, Because strong relationships are built on mutual respect.

Bruce Murphy
Vice President

Bruce originally trained as an operating engineer. He employed his detailed knowledge of the needs of Drilling Service’s field operations team to build an equipment maintenance and parts inventory system that represents the best practices in the industry. He has a bright mind for the mechanical workings of machinery and is a perfect fit for managing the detailed equipment and operations of Drilling Service Co.

Jeffrey Murphy
Executive Vice President

Jeffrey joined the team at Drilling Service Co. in 1980. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Missouri and an MBA from Washington University. His analytical, customer-centric approach to Drilling Service’s work is tempered by a lively sense of humor. When you work underground it pays to plan ahead for the unexpected. Every day we help our customers manage that risk.

Kyle Murphy
Project Engineer

Kyle is a project manager and licensed engineer with over 15 years of geotechnical construction and design experience with an emphasis on deep foundations and earth retention systems. His practical knowledge of construction techniques combined with an academic understanding of design principles are a valuable asset when preparing estimates, reviewing design submittals, and managing construction activities.

Sean Jackson
Senior Project Manager

Sean joined Drilling Service Co. in 2007, following extensive experience with a national firm, where he specialized in trench excavation & shoring safety and planning. At Drilling Service he has managed work ranging from the Centene Plaza office tower in St. Louis and the new RGA complex in Chesterfield, MO, to various projects for the St. Louis Metropolitan Sewer District.
